Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
The end of this past week, I drove down with Beau to visit my family in Murrells Inlet. It was a short trip, but my parents were very excited to meet him for the first time!
The weather this past week has been hot and humid 🙁 It felt more like August than October! Putting together an outfit when it’s Fall, but it doesn’t feel like it, isn’t always the easiest task, in my opinion. This denim skirt ended up being the perfect piece to create a Fall look for this transitional weather. Is there anything more classic than a denim skirt? It’s a timeless piece that I don’t see ever truly going out of style.
I purchased this Alexa Chung x AG Jeans denim skirt (sold out, similar here) a year or so ago, and it has been a favorite item in my closet since. I love the a-line fit, as it’s flattering and comfortable, and the button-down front. Denim skirts can be worn year round by switching up the top (longer sleeves during cooler months, short sleeves during warmer months). I paired mine with a tissue-weight turtleneck from J Crew. I usually do not love turtlenecks, but I purchased three colors in this same style last year and wore them almost every day last Fall and Winter. They are so lightweight and comfy!
I love this look because it’s perfect for the transitional Fall-but-not-quite-Fall weather. I can’t wait to pair it with boots once it gets a bit cooler!
