My favorite season, fall, is almost here and I can’t help but get excited about refreshing my wardrobe with a few staples for the new season.
I tend to gravitate towards acquiring a few high quality staples instead of a large quantity of pieces. I love the idea of purchasing something that you know will be in your closet for a long time. The concept of a capsule wardrobe is something that resonates with me, and I’m sure many of you feel the same!
My ideal fall capsule wardrobe would consist of the pieces above (or something similar) – three separate outfits that allow for mixing and matching and work well for various occasions.
Outfit 1 – Maxi Sweater Dress, Camel Coat, Ankle Booties:
This maxi sweater dress features a mock neck and a lightweight knit fabric, making it perfect for layering. I purchased this dress (which also comes in green) along with this oversized camel coat to wear for our upcoming fall trip in October. I found both pieces at Mango, and love that they are high quality but at a very affordable price point. Pair it with these ankle booties for a fall look, perfect for going from day to night.
Outfit 2 – Demi-Boot Jeans, White Blouse, Suede Flats
If I lived in a cooler climate, instead of a blouse, this would be a sweater! Unfortunately, it won’t be true sweater weather in Charleston for a while, so a classic white blouse is one of my staples to pair with denim. This one is just $50 and was a Hill House Home find. I love this demi-boot pair from Madewell – perfect to wear with these suede ballet flats (on sale!) that come in 7 different colors. This neutral pair will be perfect for the season.
Outfit 3 – Mini Dress, Tall Leather Boots, Suede Bag
I love a mini dress paired with tall boots in the fall. Sam Edelman is my go-to for boots – this pair is classic and is sure to be in your wardrobe for a long time. I’ve seen a lot of cute mini dress options for fall – think styles with sleeves and in autumn color palette. This one fits that description and would be perfect for dinner out! This outfit would be complete with this suede bucket bag. The olive green is one of my favorite colors for fall, and I couldn’t resist ordering it! It’s from Ann Mashburn, one of my all-time favorite retailers for beautiful bags.
