Michael and I arrived on Harbour Island for our honeymoon on Tuesday, and each day has been filled with so many fun adventures! I had seen many photos of Harbour Island, so I had an idea for what to expect during our visit, but I can truly say that we were absolutely stunned by the beauty of the beach and the ocean upon first arriving to the island on Tuesday. I don’t think that photos can ever do it justice – it is the most beautiful shade of blue I have ever seen! The contrast of the pink sand – yes it’s really pink! – and the blue water is one that is truly unbelievable and special. We have remarked several times during our trip so far that we can’t believe the water is really that color, it appears to not be real! I want to bottle it and bring it back home with me!
I am planning to write a full blog post about our stay and experience on the island, but I wanted to share some photos we took yesterday during an afternoon of exploring the streets of Harbour Island. The island is filled with cottages and businesses painted in colorful shades of pinks, blues, greens, and yellows. The colors coordinate perfectly with the bougainvillea that is dotted throughout the entire island.
I am so happy with the dresses I brought to wear this week – I focused on bringing flowy and lightweight dresses in colors that reminded me of the island. The Bella Tu dress I’m wearing in the photos above may be the most comfortable dress I’ve ever worn! I purchased it at a local boutique in Mt. Pleasant, Monkees, where it’s unfortunately sold out, but it is available in three colors on the brand’s website. Michael commented on how much he loved this dress, too, so you know it’s a good one! I wrote a blog post about some of the outfits I brought with me here.
I picked up the straw tote I had ordered from A and A Hidden Treasures, a Bahamian business owned by a mother/daughter duo. I met Alice and her daughter, and they were both so kind! The bag features my new initials, and has been perfect to carry all of my necessities during the trip! If you’re visiting the island, you can order ahead of time and pick up your item upon arrival. (Thanks for the tip, Katie!)
I cannot wait to share all the details of our trip with you in a blog post soon. Have a wonderful week!
