I hope everyone is having a great week! It’s rare that I share much more than outfit details or my home decor on my blog and Instagram, so I thought it would be fun to share 5 facts about me that you may not (ok, likely don’t) know!
1.) I changed my middle name when I was six years old (yes, six!). I don’t remember much about the process, but I do remember telling my grandmother at our Christmas gathering that year that I had changed my middle name (which was Nicole) to her name, Dotsy, as a Christmas present. Her sweet reaction was a special moment I won’t forget!
2.) I wasn’t a “dog person” before I adopted Beau. I know this one is hard to believe since Beau has pretty much taken over my Instagram, but it’s true. It’s not that I didn’t like dogs before having Beau, I just didn’t grow up with a dog, and it took having a dog for me to be a dog lover. Now, I am completely obsessed!
3.) I used to want to be a fashion designer/work in the fashion industry. This one jumps to mind because I was recently opening boxes that have been in storage for several years, and found all of my journals with the drawings and ideas I had for clothing that I wanted to design. I used to spend hours at Barnes and Noble looking through fashion magazines! I would create my own ‘magazines’ out of clippings from the ones I was reading. I almost applied for internships in NYC after college, but ended up not doing so. While a job in the fashion industry may have been my original dream job, I’m very happy with what I’m doing now!
4.) I took karate for six years. I won’t say which belt I’ve achieved, because in karate, you learn that you’re not really supposed to disclose, but it was a great experience as a kid and I’m glad that my parents made my sister and I stay in it as long as we did.
5.) If I could eat one type of food the rest of my life, it would be chocolate chip cookies. I don’t think this one needs any further explanation!
