Our Wedding Reception

I am going a bit out of order on my wedding posts, but today I’m sharing all about our wedding reception! Every time I look back on our wedding photos, I have the biggest smile on my face – just like the one in the photo above! I especially love looking through our reception photos and seeing how much joy and fun was had on our special day.

We are so thankful that we were able to have our families and friends celebrate with us. Though much of Michael’s family and mine had not met prior to our wedding, by the end of the wedding weekend, it truly felt like everyone was lifelong friends!

I still cannot get over how beautiful our reception tent and decor turned out. I shared lots of photos of our ceremony and reception decor on a previous blog post, so if you’re interested to see more details, check out that post!

The setting at Wachesaw Planation couldn’t have been more a stunning and perfect setting for our celebratory evening. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour overlooking the Waccamaw River, and then made their way to the reception tent.

Michael and I hadn’t been able to spend much time at our cocktail hour due to taking photos, so it was so much fun walking into the tent and seeing everyone’s smiling faces! We felt so much love!

Michael and I went straight into our first dance, which was “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison. The band, Irresistible Groove, did such an amazing job with their rendition. We only wished we had practiced our dance moves a little bit more before our big day… 🙂

My brother greeted everyone and introduced my grandmother, Dotsy, and she gave a heartfelt speech (that also had everyone laughing!), and a beautiful blessing.

My dad then took over the microphone and gave a beautiful toast to Michael and I, and you can see from our faces how special it was!

A sweet moment with my mom. I can’t thank her enough for all of her help with planning our special day!

After dinner, we had so much fun dancing the night away with our guests!

The night seemed to fly by! Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye to our guests.

Years ago, Michael purchased a vintage 1966 Mustang, which we used as our getaway car. He did such a great job getting it ready for the wedding!

Here’s a better look at it in the daylight – I can’t get over how much I love these photos!

To sum it up, it was the most magical day! If you’re planning a wedding of your own and need more inspiration, check out my Wedding Page on my blog!

Happy Sunday!
