My Makeup Favorites

I am definitely not a beauty blogger, but I always love hearing about other’s favorite makeup products, so I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites! I am a creature of habit and routine, so once I find a product I like, I tend to stick with it! Most of the products shown below are those that I’ve used for years. However, I’ve added some new ones in recently and thought I’d share!

Foundation & Concealer:

I have used Jane Iredales PurePressed Mineral Foundation powder for several years, and I absolutely love it! It goes on so smoothly for being a powder. I use this Artis Oval Brush 7 to apply it, and I love the coverage it gives while still being lightweight. I wear the shade ‘Warm Sienna’. This wears well even in the heat and humidity! It never feels heavy, which I love.

I fell in love with this Ilia concealer a couple of years ago. I ran out recently and tried to substitute it with something else I had in my makeup bag, but that brand fell short.. Ilia is so good! I love that this brand is a “clean” beauty brand. It also has Vitamin C and other ingredients that promote a brighter and more even complexion. I wear the ‘Suma’ shade.

Bronzer & Highlighter:

I was introduced to Westman Atelier last year, and have several of their products that are now musts in my makeup bag: the first is the their Face Trace Contour Stick. I am not much into contouring, but I do swipe this under my cheekbones to give a little bit of definition. It blends in very well! I wear the shade ‘Biscuit’.

The second product I love is their Lit Up Highlight Stick in ‘Lit’. This leaves the softest glow on your skin. I use it on the bridge of my nose and the top of my cheekbones.

Charlotte Tilsbury is well-known for her amazing makeup line, and I have several products from it that I love, but the one that I use regularly is her Airbrush Bronzer. What I love most about it is that it isn’t super pigmented, but you can layer it, giving you full control of how much product you end up with! I also used this bronzer for my wedding day makeup.

Eyes:

I have used Benefit’s Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel for as long as I can remember. It helps to clean up my brows and adds volume where you need it. I use the shade ‘1’.

Eyeshadow is one area that I tend to not be committed to any one product line or shade. Recently, before my wedding, I was hunting for eyeshadow palettes to use the day of my wedding (yes, I did my own wedding makeup! Read more about that here). I found one that I absolutely LOVE and now I am not sure I will go back to anything else – it is the Lorac Pro Palette in Noir. The shades included in this palette are just the prettiest, but what I love most is how blendable they are. They have the perfect amount of pigment which makes it easy to build upon with several of the shades.

Last, but certainly not least, is mascara. I do not shy away from layering on mascara – my eyes are my favorite feature to enhance. I use a layer each of three different types of mascara, and all three of these I’ve used for years and years. The first layer I add is Bobbi Brown’s Eye Opening Mascara. True to the name, I haven’t found another mascara that I love more. My second layer is Maybelline’s Volum Express The Colossal Mascara, and then I finish it off with Bobbi Brown’s Smokey Eye Mascara for the bottom lashes and to add a little length to the top lashes.

Lips:

For lips, I have used Fresh Beauty’s Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in the shade ‘Bloom’ for years and years. I love that it goes on like a chapstick, but leaves just the right amount of color on your lips. For occasions where I want a bit more color, I love Mac’s Powder Kiss Lipcolor in the shade ‘More the Mehr-ier’. (I also used this one for my wedding day!)

I hope this post was helpful! I’d love to hear about your must-have beauty/makeup products in the comments section below!
