The Fourth of July is one of my very favorite holidays, probably second to Christmas! I love everything about this patriotic holiday… time spent with family by the water or on the beach, cookouts, and fireworks! I love that it’s a holiday that usually means gathering with people you love, relaxing, and enjoying the sunshine-filled, longer days.
I also love any excuse to decorate a table, so I set out to do just that with this table I’m featuring today that was inspired by the upcoming holiday. This table is really quite simple, but I wanted to avoid anything fussy since the summer is meant for taking a relaxing approach to most things.
I started with this blue and white gingham table cloth that I’ve had my eye on for some time! It’s the perfect shade of coastal blue that I knew would become a well-loved piece in my collection of tablecloths. The best part is is that it’s currently on sale! It comes in several other colors that also would be perfect for summertime dining.
These Kim Seybert placemats are a favorite – I love the detail that they add, and white always pops against a printed tablecloth.
I don’t have much red in my collection of tabletop items, and I really didn’t want to spend too much money on anything I was afraid I wouldn’t use often, so I was thrilled to find these red and white striped dinner napkins at just $18 for 12 napkins. They lend a casual feel to the table, as well. I also think these would be perfect for the Fourth of July!
I love these pom-pom napkin rings from Cailini Coastal. Speaking of, this favorite retailer has so many perfect tabletop items for a summer table!
A few finishing touches – these gorgeous striped glasses from Zafferano Home, who also makes the cordless lamps shown here, as well! I am beyond obsessed with the cordless lamps. We use them every night on our dinner table!
Last but not least, a simple arrangement of white hydrangeas is always a summer favorite, set in a beautiful hurricane vase.
I hope this post inspired you to add a little red, white, and blue to your table for July 4th!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday,

This is one of my favorite posts! I would never have thought about using a light blue and white gingham tablecloth with bright and bold red and white napkins! The beautiful white lamps and placemats make it all work so beautifully together! Sophisticated but casual!!!!
