Last year, I began to focus on the skincare products I was using, and have been replacing many of the products I was using with those that are considered “clean”. While I haven’t been able to fully switch over all of my skincare and makeup products, I have made a lot of progress and have found a few favorites that I know will be staples in my skincare and beauty routine for the foreseeable future.
I was introduced to the brand Iris & Romeo mid last year and I absolutely love the products I have tried so far. My favorite is their Best Skin Days 5-In-1 – it’s a serum, moisturizer, sheer coverage, sunscreen, and blue light/pollution protection. What I love most about this product is the dewy glow that it gives you. You can use this under your typical makeup, or on it’s own for days when you just want a sheer amount of coverage. While this product is not inexpensive, the container has enough product in it to last you quite a while!
A product that I am particular about is eye makeup remover. Not every eye makeup remover is created equally, and some leave me feeling that I didn’t quite get all of the makeup off of my eyes. I was on the hunt for a new eye makeup remover last year and found Beautycounter’s Instant Eye Makeup Remover. The gentle formula is easy on the eyes (literally) and seems to get all of my eye makeup off easily.
I stumbled upon this eye tint by Ilia Beauty, one of my favorite clean makeup brands, and haven’t looked back! This liquid eye shadow transforms into a weightless metallic eye tint with the prettiest subtle sheen. It is offered in 8 shades and has received several awards, which is no surprise to me! I use the shade “Fresco”.
Last year I was on a mission to find a “clean” deodorant, and went through my fair share of brands until I landed on Native Deodorant. This is the first one that actually worked for me. They have several scents available – I have the Coconut & Vanilla and love it.
I don’t have a particular brand to share, but one of my favorite clean beauty products is coconut oil. I use this as a skin moisturizer nightly and it works wonders for dry skin! Coconut oil is a relatively inexpensive product, but has so many uses for skin and hair (and of course, cooking!)
