Our Wedding Ceremony and Reception Spaces

I’m so excited to finally share a look at our wedding ceremony and reception spaces! The entire wedding, ceremony and reception included, took place at Wachesaw Plantation Club, with the beautiful Waccamaw River and 300-year old live oaks as the backdrop. It made for the most beautiful setting for our special day.

I will never forget how I felt when we were driving up to the venue to meet Michael for our first look! My dad drove my mom, my sister, and me to the venue after getting ready at my parent’s home. As I caught sight of our reception tent for the first time, I started to tear up! It was a special moment seeing how everything came together, and we were all truly blown away by how beautiful everything looked.

There are quite a lot of photos in this post, as I had such a hard time narrowing down the images! Rachel Red Photography took all of the photos in this post. Rachel and her second shooter, Brian, did an amazing job capturing the day.

Our beautiful ceremony was set facing the Waccamaw River, with live oak trees framing the view. We chose a simple cross-back chair, which tied in well with the scenery. Our florist, Greenskeeper Florist, created a beautiful garland using greenery, magnolia leaves, hydrangeas, and white roses.

We chose to have a tented reception, as it was important to me that the wedding was outdoors to be mindful of social distancing, and also to take advantage of the picturesque lowcountry setting.

The clear-top tent was a last minute switch for us, and we were so happy with that decision. Michael commented that the entire evening had a ‘glow’ about it, due to the filtered light coming through the tent! I had to agree – it felt magical under our tent, and was especially beautiful as the sun was setting!

Denise at Greenskeeper Florist was wonderful to work with. She listened to all of our ideas and inspirations, and truly made them come to life with the flowers! Since we got engaged last December, I knew that the florals were a very important aspect to me for the wedding. We chose to use white peonies, white roses, and hydrangeas for the centerpieces.

I ordered these custom monogram napkins from Charleston Cotton for the head table. I love the idea that when we use these in the future, we’ll always think of our special day!

Our bar was set underneath a beautiful live oak tree on the bluff. We had string lights hung in the oak tree, set against the Spanish moss.

Michael’s vintage car, which served as our getaway car!
Our signature margarita was served during cocktail hour in personalized cups from Surcie
Our conversation area was set next to the dance floor. I love how this came together!

My uncles on my mom’s side provided the wedding favors, which were handcrafted slate coasters that read “Love Never Fails”, mined from their slate quarry in Pennsylvania. They were so special!

Looking back on these photos leaves me with the biggest smile on my face. We truly feel like our wedding day was a dream – it could not have been more perfect!

Our amazing vendor team made it so easy on us on our wedding day, and everything went so smoothly! A huge thank you to Ash Events, our amazing wedding planner, and the Events Coordinator, Brayer, at Wachesaw Plantation Club – from the beginning of our planning stages to the day of, they worked together to make our day seamless and wonderful from start to finish!

I’ve talked a lot about our wedding photographer, Rachel Red Photography, but we feel like we hit the jackpot with Rachel! She made the day so much fun for us and is a dream to work with.

We were beyond happy with our decision to work with Denise at Greenskeeper Florist for our florals. She took great care to make sure she understood our ideas and truly made them come to life with the flowers!
